Triathlon Training Guide for 2009

Have you ever wondered what a training plan is? What goes into a plan? What should I be doing? What kind of training is right for me?
How do I avoid illness and injury? How do I train right to achieve my goals? If you are thinking about training and or racing this year then you might want to start thinking about your 2009 training plan. We will be looking at types of training and some of the more popular methods used by athletes and coaches.
We will learn about basic program design and how to your plan can help you achieve your goals this year. This is a good lecture to attend whether you are preparing for your first race or your 51st.

Triathlon Swim Technique and Drills Workshop
Monday, December 1st at 6:30 pm
Swim and Triathlon Coach Ruthy Vesler will be our featured speaker at the December Sporting Science lecture at Coastal Sports and Wellness.
Coach Ruthy will take you through the key components of a stronger AND more efficient swim stroke that will make you faster next season with much less effort. The second part of the workshop will focus on dry-land training drills with stretch cords – an easy and effective way to develop a smooth and powerful swim stroke even if you don’t have time to hit the pool consistently during the holidays.
You will need a set of stretch cords without handles.
You can bring your own or purchase a set to keep from Ruthy at the class for only $10.
Ironman World Championship Wrap-up – The Triathlon Coach’s Perspective
