Medical Director – John M. Martinez, M.D.

Dr. Martinez is a board-certified sports medicine and family physician and 4-time Ironman triathlon finisher. He has treated a wide-range of athletes from the high school and recreational athlete to the elite and professional. He is the current medical director of the Carlsbad Marathon and a member of the USA Triathlon Team USA medical staff and the Hawaiian Ironman medical staff since 1999.
Sports Chiropractor – Dan Lehnberg, D.C., CSCS

Dr. Lehnberg is a board-certified sports chiropractor and is A.R.T. (Active Release Technique) certified. He is a 2-time Ironman triathlon finisher, avid mountainbiker and ultramarathoner. Dr. Lehnberg specializes in a myofascial and soft-tissue approach to injury rehabilitation with emphasis on a quick return to sport for the injured athlete.
Cycling Performance Center
John HowardThree-time Olympic cyclist, US Cycling Hall of Fame member and Hawaiian Ironman World Champion John Howard brings over 35 years of cycling experience to the Coastal Sports & Wellness Cycling Performance Center. John Howard's position-technique analysis is a 2-hour session that has been proven over the past 22 years with 130 National Championships and an Olympic Gold Medal. The package starts with a scientific approach to biomechanical positioning and the analysis of pedaling technique.

Greg Griffin
Greg is a nationally-certified personal trainer with a 20+ year triathlon and running racing resume that includes a 10th overall finish at Ironman Canada and an amazing 2:49 for his first marathon (Los Angeles 1986). Greg understands the specific needs of endurance athletes when it comes to weight training.
Jason Wanstreet

Jason Wanstreet is also a nationally certified personal trainer with a Master's degree in Physical Education and his Strength & Conditioning Specialist certification. He is an associate faculty member at Grossmont College and a former college volleyball player.
Sports Massage Therapy Staff
Scott Richardson, L.M.T. and H.H.P.
Scott is an experienced licensed massage therapist and triathlete who understands the effects of endurance training on muscle soreness and recovery. Recover faster after that late season race or hard workouts with a sports massage from Scott.
Kim Francis, L.M.T.
Kim is one of our newest additions to the staff. Originally from Michigan, Kim has a strong athletic background, as a former three-sport high school athlete with a college degree in Exercise Science. Kim's experience as a physical therapy assistant and fitness specialist help her get her sports massage clients back to training and racing.

Kimberly Fried, L.AcKimberly combines her training as a licensed acupuncturist with a Master's degree in Oriential Medicine and as a massage therapy instructor to provide nature, safe and alternative treatments for active and athletic clients alike.
